The Patrol had an Observation Post recorded by the Defence Of Britain Project undertaken by the Council for British Archaeology. The location was recalled as in Ferny Hole Plantation; North of Abbotsbury, West Dorset.
Sergeant White's nephew, Michael, remembers playing in Ferny Hole Plantation and finding a structure dug into the red clay. He and his brother were able to crawl into the structure and found it clean inside, devoid of any bedding that might be expected in a badger sett. Possibly this was a storage area for the Patrol, though too small for an Operational Base.
Abbotsbury Patrol
The Patrol had a single Thompson Sub Machine Gun in its transit box with spares, and 10 magazines each holding 20 rounds.
