Career
Roy has been identified as a possible member of the South Lincolnshire Scout Section based on his Army Number and subsequent SAS service. His number is relatively close to other known members of the Section. He is known to have joined the SAS by Apr 1944. Only a handful of soldiers from the Lincolnshire Regiment served in the wartime SAS and almost all seem to have had links to Auxiliary Units.
Roy Compton served on Operation Howard in Germany in 1945
We would be very interested to hear from anyone who able to confirm or refute this supposition.
