Career

Jack left Auxiliary Units to join the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.

He later transferred to the West Yorkshire Regiment and joined 1 SAS, most likely in early 1944 when the SAS were actively seeking out men who had served with Auxiliary Units. He served in France in 1944, although the exact operation is not known. He later served in Germany as part of Operation Howard, deploying on 10 Apr 1945. After their disbandment he transferred to the Royal Army Service Corps and spent some time with the British Army of the Rhine in Germany. He was released in Sep 1946.
