On 15 Dec 1945 the Wells Group of Somerset Auxiliers had a stand down meal at the Bekynton Cafe in Wells. The men are listed in their Patrols. Harold has a star next to his name which denotes he was in Auxiliary Units from its formation.
Harold donated some of his Auxiliary Units instruction manuals to Wells Museum in 1995 but lost his lapel badge during a house move. His son, Mark, recalled in a letter to Auxilier John Sealy (Feb 1997) that he could remember a rifle, commando knife, and a rubber truncheon hidden in the house at Burcott Road. There was fusewire and time pencils around the house long after the war that were later disposed of in a stream.
