Biography
George was originally in Roseland Patrol, Cornwall. He became the Group Commander of Group 6 and the Area Commander of Groups 5 and 6. George was promoted to Lieutenant 1st February 1941 and on to Captain 22nd January 1943. He was the Area Commander of Groups 5 and 6 in Cornwall and the Group Commander of Group 6.

Born in Alford, Lincolnshire to Solicitor John Sergeant and his wife Martha. In 1911 he is in a boarding school in Bloomsbury, London.
In 1939 he was an ARP warden. He married Mabel Derry in 1928. A WW1 veteran he served as Private 97743 in the 20 Battalion Royal Fusiliers and was awarded the Military Medal.
