Career
His presence in the area is confirmed by his prosecution in July 1942 for carrying "an Army pal" on his Army bicycle, in breach of the law that it had been built for the carriage of two persons. The pal was Private William Lovegrove who must be assumed to be another member of the Scout Section. Bicycles were part of the standard unit issue.
