He transferred out of Auxiliary Units.
Before the war he worked as a specialist ironworker and had made metal screens for The Grill Room at The Dorchester Hotel. As work dried up he became a Gamekeeper at Woolverstone. He moved on to work at E.R.& F. Turner making shell lathes then on to Biggleswade to an American Company making aircraft propellers. When he finally retired he was a car panel beater.
