Known as Reggie he was originally in Trencrom Patrol. Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant 9th November 1942 then Lieutenant 11th February 1943 he was the Group Commander of Group 1 Cornwall.
The son of William and Mary Sandow, he is the brother of Auxilier Edwin Sandow. He married Elsie May Matthews in 1936 in Rutland.
Cornwall’s Police service needed to mount an overnight guard on half a ton of .303 bullets that William and his son handed into the Penzance Police Station in the 1960s. The army arrived at the station the following morning to take custody of the bullets.
