Other information

His son Jake Mackenzie recalled; My father was a teacher at Dr Guthrie's Boys School, an Approved School, which had been evacuated from Edinburgh to Moffat in 1939. I have childhood memories of his absences from our house in Beechgrove Street, Moffat. Also he told stories of guarding the King at Balmoral! He had his rifle at home and we were told if the Unit was activated he’d disappear - to parts unknown!
