Willaim Henderson Kydd was born on the 1st of December 1881 at St Vigeans to William (a Ploughman) and Isobella.
William was a Gamekeeper on the Millden and later Invermark Estate, Tarfside for Lord Dalhousie.
He was married to Mary Ann (Mennie). They had at least one son, James Eggo who married Isobel Durward in 1942. James was listed as an Aircraftsman with the RAF
He is recorded as being a member of the Tarfside Unionists, also he was active in the community with Curling and flowers. He was also the secretary of the Lochee Games Committee. In 1937 He laid a wreath at Tarfside on Armistice day!
The Kydd's left Tarfside in October 1946 following a presentation in the Masonic Hall in Tarfside.
William died on the 11th of December 1959 at his home (Dorward House, Montrose) age 78 his death in the paper read - "Well-Known In Glenesk. —Mr William H. Kydd, who has died Dorward House, Montrose, spent most of his life in Glenesk as gamekeeper the Earl of Dalhousie at Millden and Invemark and later as gardener at Invermark Lodge. He was an active member of Committee of Lochlee games and picnic, Glenesk Curling Club and Tarfside Social Club."
