The nominal roll records his surname as Newnman. He may have originally been in a mainland Patrol around Southampton.
The 1945 and 1946 Reunion menus record him as Sgt A Newman, suggesting that he may have been known as Arthur. There was an AF Newman from Newport as well, but he is known to have worked alongside members of the Newport Patrol.
