Jack was discharged as medically unfit on 5th May 1944. In 1939 he was in America. In 1941 he married Pamela Treffry in Fowey. They later divorced and Jack married Frances Arnold-Forster. They moved to Sidmouth in Devon.
In Dec 1943 he officially changed his first name by deed poll to Jack.
