Sidney Thomas Dinnis married Kate Gribble in 1921, they were known as steak and kidney! They had 2 children: Kathleen and Raymond Dinnis. Both volunteered and joined the WAAF and RAF. He had 3 grand-daughters and 3 grand-sons:-Ian Shedden, Margaret Wreay (nee Shedden), Julia Higgins (nee Shedden) and Peter Dinnis (deceased), Lady Susan Bacon (nee Dinnis), and John Dinnis
Kate died in December 1947. Sidney appears to have taken his own life 8 months later. He died from a gunshot wound to the head and a revolver was found lying next to him.

Dairy farmer
In 1939 he is living at Parkwood Farm Upper Dicker and is an ARP Warden. A WW1 veteran he was Private 270661 in 10th East Kent Regiment. He purchased Parkwood Farm in 1921 and died in 1948.
During the war he moved to a tenanted farm a few miles away closer to the coast, Priory Farm, Wilmington near Polegate, East Sussex. This land included the Long Man of Wilmington or the Wilmington Giant. This was of course turfed over. He had a wireless aerial up the chimney.
