Lieutenant Webb appears on Aux Units Part II Orders in October 1943. It is known that some of the remaining Scout Section Officers were shuffled across areas in 1943, so he may not have been in Essex at this point, but it is likely had started his Aux Units service there.
He died while serving with the 1st Battalion, the Essex Regiment in India on 16th November 1946. The 1st Essex had formed part of the second Chindits operation in 1944, though it has not yet been possible to confirm if Lieutenant Webb was involved.

Note: CART approached the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to update Captain Webb's online record to include his first name. Apparently this can only be done by next of kin, but we would be happy to advise any relatives how to go about this and provide the necessary supporting material.
