Biography
Ron Dabbs was one of the earliest members of the Royal Signals Special Duties team. Recruited because of his experience as a Radio Ham, he was appointed Sergeant in Charge at Bachelors Hall, Hundon, Suffolk. Wireless amateur callsign G2RD.
He was instrumental in the design of the TRD wireless set, thought to have been named Transmitter Receiver Dabbs, because of this. He remained with the Special Duties Signals team until Stand Down, being pictured at Coleshill House then.
