Intelligence Officer Auxiliary Units. One original document gives Captain RM Cameron’s regiment as the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. However there are only two RM Camerons as officers in the 1944 Army List. One is in the Royal Army Dental Corps and therefore a dentist, the other the Royal Artillery. It is assumed that the RM Cameron (Royal Artillery) is the Intelligence Officer. He was commissioned into the Cheshire Regiment and then transferred to the Royal Artillery. He is noted to be Specially Employed in the Army List in 1944 consistent with a posting to Auxiliary Units. Possibly he servd with the 9th Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, who were transferred to the Royal Artilley as the 54th and 58th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiments, but still considered themselves part of their original Scottish Regiment
