Biography
Reg was the brother of Adrian Le Maitre. His birth and death are recorded as Reginald Heny Le Maitre but as Reginald Lionel elsewhere. He married Gwendolen Helen Heath in 1929.
In 1939 he was registered as a St John’s Ambulance volunteer.

Career
His joining date is a 13 days before the rest of the Patrol. It is unclear why though may be a clerical error. In a newspaper article he recalled serving with his brother, Bill Rapkins, Edgar Moorman and Ken Hooper.
He left the Patrol at the end of 1942 for the Bognor Battalion of the Sussex Home Guard, presumably as he moved there for work reasons.
