Biography
Interviewed at the age of 75 he said "We were each supplied with Commando knives and a rubber truncheon. The idea was to grab a German by his helmet from behind, pull his head back and hit him on the Adam's apple with the truncheon".
The son of Ernest and Florence, Philip married Kath Colclough in 1942 so was the brother in law of Auxilier Alan Colclough.
