Biography
The sons of Arthur and Eatho Bromfield Peter and Benjamin were brothers. Benjamin and Peter Bromfield lived at, and worked at, the sawmills at Smeatharpe. They worked 6 days a week during the war, and they cleared the trees for the nearby airfields to be built also they supplied timber for the construction.
The sawmills have now been converted into 3 houses, so it is not a sawmill anymore. It is sited along the main road.
