Ronald was recruited after an interview with Beatrice Temple 13 Jan 1942 in London. She attended a course at Hannington Hall 13 June 1942 and a store keeping course 9 April 1943 where she announced her engagement to Walter. They married in June and on 27 July 1943 she announced she was expecting her first child.
She was visited by Beatrice Temple at Canterbury on 18 Sep 1942 and 4 Nov 1942. She was on leave from South Dalton 23 March 1943.
