Farmer
He married Annie Sleeman in 1948.
Norman was found dead in a pool around half a mile from his home on 12 Dec 1952 aged 39. An initial inquest suspected he took his own life but the Pathologist report insisted the injuries could not be self inflicted and he was the victim of a "perfect crime...he was found dead and that death was caused by manual strangulation not self inflicted". He was found face down in a stream in a lonely wood but the Pathologist reported he did not drown but was killed by strangulation as he had discovered throat wounds.
He was working the farm in partnership with his brothers who found his body. His wife report "I think he was ill and run down, he was a reserved sort of man but became more quiet in the weeks running up to his death". It was his role to file the accounts for the farm but he failed to do so and the brothers were summoned to court.
The jury found he died from strangulation, not self inflicted but it appears the case was closed with little investigation.
