Nelson Burt doesn’t appear in the final nominal roll, compiled around the middle of 1943, so it is possible he had left by this time, though he does appear in earlier records.The nominal roll lists his Identity Card number as YWLT 532387, a format normally used by those enlisted for military service but released again as happened to some who were in the Territorial Army before the war.
He was one of 12 children. He married Diana Curtis who was a cook at St George's school.
