Born in Lamu, Kenya to Dr Alfred and Christabel Paget. He graduated from medical school in 1924 and married Hilda Pope in Hendon in 1934. In 1931 he took a job at Burnt Oak, Edgware, London.
They were living in Exeter at the start of the war. In 1942, after the terrible raid of 3 May, when 162 people were killed, Meyrick sent his wife and daughter to stay at Place Farm, Shillingford for a spell.
In Dec 1942 he enrolled in Medical Branch of the RAF as Flying Officer 133921, later becoming Flight Lieutenant 3 Dec 1943.
He was one of the first Doctors to be appointed to the newly formed NHS in Exeter.
The family emigrated to Australia after the war, Meyrick registering as a Medical Practitioner in Western Australia on 13 Sep 1957. He became Medical Officer for Health to the shire of Goomalling in July 1968. Later they moved on to New Zealand, Meyrick registering there as a Medical Practitioner on 18 Nov 1971. He died there and is buried at Purewa Cemetery in Auckland.

In 1939 he was a lecturer in first aid for the ARP. He was area surgeon for St John Ambulance in East Devon in the 1950s. He was appointed as a Commander of Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem in Jan 1958.
