The Transport Office | RASC Section | 27 Mar 1941 | Unknown |
27 Mar 1941 Corporal McCullough arrived at Coleshill House along with Private Eric Gray.
July 1943 Promoted Acting Sergeant by Captain The Lord Delamere.
Eric Gray recalled that McCullough was a pre-war Regular soldier and also an Orangeman. He "was extremely fond of a beer" and when teaching learners to drive would get them to stop by a pub to buy him a drink. Once, after doing this, the learner let the clutch out so fast it broke the rear axle. He made the learners in the car push it away from the pub before calling for assistance.
It is believed he may be Corporal A M McCullough, 1488390, RASC, who lived at 102 Barnetts Road, Knock in Belfast. We have no firm evidene to confirm this so please get in touch if you are able to help.
