Biography
Maurice was the manager of the butchers shop in Fore Street, next to the Kings Arms, Ivybridge. Always a keen gardener he became the Honorary Secretary of the Ivybridge Gardening Association. He was originally a Sergeant in the regular Home Guard but was demoted to private before joining the Patrol.
Remembered as a large man he once drove an Austin 7 from Aberdeen to Newport, South Wales, in a day.
