The son of Walter and Caroline, Len and his wife Hilda (nee Worth) owned the Yelverton Dairy and it was run from their home called Fairfield. His son David can remember standing beside him on the steps at Fairfield and watching the search lights in the sky. When a plane flew over he told David to listen to the different sounds between British and the German engines. Before the war they owned Bird Cage Farm near Crownhill. Len sold Axtown Farm to Sid Bragg and he and his son started another milk round up in competition !
