Other information
Jonathan Taylor joined the Gordon Highlanders in 1918, and travelled through France, Germany and Belgium before demobbing in November 1919. On leaving the army, he took up a post at the Forglen Estate in Turriff.
As a keen fisherman, he knew the River Deveron well.
A friend of the Banff Patrol's Sergeant George Copeland's son, recalls Jonathan Taylor giving him a Fairbairn Sykes Knife. Jonathan also taught him attack moves, and somewhere along the line the person had a Smith and Wesson revolver and a Sten gun, possibly from an Operational Base.
