Private John Edward "Jack" Warder
15 Nov 1914 - 1976
Biography
The son of William and Ellen.
John Russell recalled his father telling a story about Jack Warder. The men had travelled to Bishop’s Waltham, their County Headquarters, for an event which included a drill session on the down land in front of senior officers. Jack was marching in the front rank, when he failed to hear the order, “About face” and continued across the field for some distance while his comrades headed in the opposite direction.
