Jack Humby was a Keeper in the New Forest, living at Stockley Cottage on the Beaulieu Road. He recalled in his memoirs that he had been involved with Auxiliary Units for 18 months to two years. He appears to have left prior to the nominal roll being compiled in mid-1942 as he does not appear. The other option is that clerks mistook him for the J Humby who was a member of the Cadnam Patrol, who was born almost exactly a year later and had a different address at Newbridge, but still in the New Forest, therefore making only one record for the two men. Jack Humby knew Daniel Sutherland well.
