Lieutenant Henry Holland Vassall

Biography
The son of Rev. William and Alice Vassall from Wear Gifford in Devon.
An Oxford double blue and former England Rugby international he served for many years in the Civil Service in Kenya.
He was found dead by his sister, who he lived with, on the settee, with a shot-gun wound to the head having recently suffered from great pain and insomnia. The single barrelled shot-gun was in his hand. The Coroner reported "This is a tragic end to a man who at one time was a brilliant athlete".
