Born in Swatow in China. In 1939 he is a boarder at Eddystone School, Monkton Coombe. In 1940 he is still there specialising in science. He was the Captain of the Hockey team.
He married New Zealand born nurse Penelope Harding in Westminster in 1946. They met while training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.
In 1948 Donald and his young family are traveling to China then on to Formosa (Taiwan). He is a Doctor and his wife Penny a nurse. They have young children; Andrew and Peter. Their leaving address was 3 Mormora Road, London SE22.
In Jan 1956 the couple are traveling from Southampton to New York/Halifax. Their recorded home is 13 Honor Oak Hill, Forest Green, London but they are living and intend to return to Taiwan. They are both recorded as Missionaries.
In Sept 1956 he is returning to Taiwan with wife Penelope and their young son Nigel. His occupation is described as Medical Missionary.
Donald and Penny moved from Taiwan to Hong Kong in the late seventies where Donald helped work with the Vietnamese boat people in the refugee camps.
In 1992, they moved here to Texas to be closer to family. Donald died in 1998 and Penny in 2016.
