In January 1943 Henry Buscombe was transferred to 12th Battalion (Lands End) Home Guard as he had moved to St Just in Cornwall to become a miner at Geevor Mine. He returned to Torbay after the war. He seems to be recorded as both Henry Claude and Claude Henry.
The Nominal Roll has his date of birth as 25 May 1917 but the 1939 Register has 10 May 1918.
He married Jean Margaret Hamlyn in 1950.
