In 1924 he was working at King Edward Memorial Hospital and at the end of the year he and his wife Dorothy traveled to stay in North Borneo.
In 1937 he is praised for his bravery on entering a house to tend a lady who had been shot while the shooter was still in the house.
22 April 1938 both Dr Hogg and Edwin Wadman of Stone Cross Outstation were awarded the Liberty of Pevensey.
In 1939 he is the Westham Medical Officer for the British Red Cross Society.
Dr Hogg had branch practices at Westham, Stone Cross and Pevensey Bay so driving around the countryside would not have looked suspicious.
