Other information
A friend and neighbour of Bert Verney, Gerald Stanbury was last to join the Patrol. He was a farmer, rough and rash but reliable. He saw no fear and was very fit. Although having joined later he soon picked up explosive skills which would have been his main task.
He died in 1964 aged only 40. A inquest recorded he had shot himself.
