George moved from Suffolk when his father, Samuel, moved to Great Bromley to become tenant of the Fox and Hounds public house on Bentley Road, Little Bromley (Now "The Haywain"). George and his bother Bill became Blacksmiths; George had some experience as he shod mules in Salonika in the First World War. George married local girl Mary Bloyce and they built a house called Crabtrees near to the Forge, and had one son in 1938. George and Bill built a new forge in 1948.

Master blacksmith
ARP Warden Essex Police. He appears to have taken over the role of Patrol Corporal when Charles Frostick left.
George Kent had one child, also George and often known as Georgie, who took on the Smithy. Georgie was aware of his father's involvement, but we have no other details there.
Charles Frostick, in the same patrol, regularly visited George after he was taken ill in 1956, and also gave Georgie his first job at Hiskey's Farm (although Georgie had to leave to take on the forge when father was ill.)
