Richard and George were brothers.
George talked about his time in Auxiliary Units in and article in Hull Daily Mail 19 Feb 1996. In the article he states he "was not very good at taking orders. I often thought what my reaction would have been had I been called on for real".
He was for 30 years a member of the Aldbrough Parish Council, a church warden and established the Roos Young Farmers Club.
Known for his sense of humour, he was able to crack a joke and still make his point.
