Dr George Armour was a General Practitioner in Woodhall Spa, joing Dr Boys in 1927. As was normal at the time he covered a wide area and undertook a wide range of duties, including examining for first aid certificates and being a member of the Civil Defence Rescue Team. He was also Chairman of the Lincoln Division of the British Medical Association in 1940.
He was married to Freda and had three sons, though the first died shortly after birth. The two boys were evacuated with their school during the early part of the war, though were at home for the school holidays in August 1943 when the parachute mine exploded destroying their home and trapping them with their badly injured mother. At the time Dr Armour was in Scotland on a fishing trip.
