Morgan-Jones had only just returned from Australia when he volunteered for the then LDV. He received a phone call asking him to join Auxiliary Units. He went to Letton Court (home of Alex Beck) and was issued with equipment.
He recalled going to the Isle of Wight around D-Day but considered this to be a waste of time. Hugh Hall asked if he would be willing to parachute into France but this came to nothing.
