On 13 Feb 1941 he was one of the prize winners at a Whist Drive and dance organised to raise funds for a comforts room for the local searchlight unit. On 16 Jun 1941 he was fined 7 shillings and 6d for keeping a dog without a licence. He was a regular pall-bearer for funerals in Moulton.
He married Irene Maisie Butler in 1946 and they had two children.
In the 1980s and 1990s he was elected to Moulton Parish Council.
He is buried in Moulton cemetery
