Edward married Dorothy Williams and had 4 children. When they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1973 they were living in Victoria Road, Exmouth, Devon
The couple met at University, graduating from Liverpool University as teachers. He worked for over 20 years at Wells Blue School, before leaving to take up a lectureship in Exmouth Emergency Teacher Training College just after the war. He then became Headmaster of Exmouth Secondary Modern School for 20 years until his retirement in 1967. After retirement he was very active in the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Assistant Secondary School Master
In 1939 he was Deputy Officer of Wells ARP. He was promoted to Second Lieutenant 1st February 1941.
Second Lieutenant Edward Harrison was a geography teacher and assistant Headmaster at Wells Cathedral School and seems to have recruited quite a few ex-pupils into the Patrols under his command.
