In 1939 he is a Coastguard Auxiliary Watch Keeper.
The Sandown Fire Brigade Roll of Honour records that he was a member of the Crescent Road Section 1939-1941, along with Rapkins and Hooper who were also Patrol members. Moorman and Rapkins attended the funeral of William David Batchelor in Jan 1942. He had died falling from a Fire Brigade vehicle while travelling for a training exercise. The newspaper report of the funeral said the two men had been part of the previous Hawksworth Auxiliary Fire Service patrol along with the deceased.
