Son of Thomas Edward and Kate Moxlow; he married Dinah Elizabeth (nee Found) of Flixton in 1935, the sister of Sergeant William Found.

Charles Moxlow was the original Patrol Leader then Sergeant. He was killed in a car crash on his way to an Auxiliary Units exercise 27 June 1942. He was thrown from an open touring car which was being driven by Scout Section Second Lieutenant George Laurens. Lance Corporal Bernard Smith was also present.
He had been selected as the Group Assistant Commanding Officer with the rank of Lieutenant but was killed before taking up the role.
He is buried at Folkton Church and has a Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone recording him as a Sergeant in the 5th East Riding (Bridlington) Home Guard
