The son of Joseph and Elizabeth Brake. He married Mabel Goodchild in 1944.
In a letter from Berkshire TA Association to the Dorset IO dated18 May 1943 they queried the entry in the nominal roll dated 10 May 1943 for C Brake WKCK 15/2 (Cyril) stating that their records held C G Brake WKCB 261/2 (Charles). This was returned with a tick against the entry for Charles and a crossed out tick for that of Cyril. This would tend to indicate that Charles was correct. However, other information would suggest that there was some confusion over two members of the same Patrol.
Maurice Brake said him and his brother Cyril were in the Patrol but he did not know Charles Brake, but Maurice was called up to the mines.
