Private Cecil Arthur Beazley
05 Apr 1911 - 18 Nov 2010
Biography
Cecil had originally been in the normal Home Guard, before being asked to join Auxiliary Units.
On 14 Nov 1943 he was transferred to the 7th Battalion Wiltshire Home Guard. This may have been because he had moved, though Woodyates sits right on the Dorset-Wiltshire border.
He never told his wife about his wartime duties in common with many Auxiliers, who had signed the Official Secrets Act.
