Born in Temple Cloud he is living with his Grandparents Thomas and Amelia Compton and parents Dudley and Beatrice Stock at Cameley Road, Temple Cloud in 1921. He married Jean Bickerton Ham in 1946 in St Albans. He collapsed while playing golf at Mendip Golf Course at Oakhill. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was part of Barnabas Church Choir.

Banker at Maison Leeward Quartier
Joined HM Forces 12th December 1942. He joined the RAF where he became a rear gunner. In Jan 1944 he and his fellow servicemen had to bail out of their plane and came down in enemy occupied territory. He was rescued and cared for by friends in "the underground movement" but was unable to get word home that he was alive and safe. Due to the Allied advance he was finally able to make it home after 9 months in hiding, arriving home on 8 Sept 1944.
