Biography
Born in Tidenham, Gloucestershire, Alfred was always known as Harding Joyce. He was in Shropshire in 1943 but returned to area of Southstoke and set up his own engineering company. In 1939 he was a milking machine expert.
In 1921 he enlisted in the Royal Tank Corps, service number 541067 but was transferred to the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars in March 1922.
He married Doris Carey in Weymouth in 1938.
