Haulage Contractors Clerk
He has been allocated to the Birtley Patrol as geographically closest to his home. He was not recalled by Richard Coleman but this may have been because he left early.
After Auxiliary Units, he was enrolled in the General Service Corps, indicating his call up had been deferred to after 1941. Most likely he joined the Army in Apr 1943 when the restrictions on call ups for Auxiliers were removed.
He was transferred to the Coldstream Guards. Along with Kenneth Weymouth he joined 1 SAS in 1944. He was formally transferred to the Army Air Corps on 1 Apr 1944 though he may have joined the SAS shortly before this. He served on Operation Howard.
The name A.C. Milner appears on a list of North Riding and Durham personnel attached to the Nominal Roll. There are no other details
