Career
Alec Somers, along with Arthur Spurrett was based at Chertsey in 1940 when a call came for four volnteers. They were transferred to Tunbridge wells in May before moving to the Garth with Captain Peter Fleming in June 1940. He remained at the Garth until it closed down in 1944, becoming invoved in the training exercises for Patrols in addiiton to driving.
Other information
In 1940 he married Bertha Marion Bond in Devon, near his home town of Axmouth.
