Corporal Albert Edward "Bert" Cocks

Biography
Bert replaced Baldwin as Patrol Corporal. In 1992 Bert wrote a book about his wartime life called "Churchill's Secret Army 1939-945 and other recollections".
In 1938 Bert joined the Fire Service and later the ARP becoming Commander of Post 7 but quickly joined the Local Defence Volunteers as soon as they were formed. He was invited to a meeting at Jack Ford's house and told about Auxiliary Units.

The son of Frederick and Annie Cocks he married Marjorie Paternoster in 1932.
He had enlisted in Royal Garrison Artillery Territorials in 1922 telling them he was 18 when he was only 17.
