Station description

The entrance shaft to the Out Station was located under a summer house or garden shed at Ellars Farm, Goathland. The Operator was the home owner. It was constructed as a corrugated Nissen hut type structure divided by breeze block walls which were whitewashed. There are 3 chambers with a 3 foot by 3 foot access shaft. The first chamber is 9 foot by 5 foot and a central door leads through to a central chamber which is 9 foot by 7 foot. This is thought to have housed a bunk. A further, off centre, door leads through to a third chamber where there are two 6 inch square wooden trunking leading out of the far wall.

An aerial with insulators was found in a nearby Beech tree. A large spool of communication cable was found in a nearby out house together with an ammunition box.
